Last Friday saw 2020health’s Julia Manning chair a ‘health special’ Q&A session with Conservative Leader, David Cameron. This was an opportunity for the public to pose questions directly and vote on which ones they wanted addressed via the internet. This event saw David Cameron tackle questions at the heart of the NHS from the proliferation of managers, target driven culture, patient choice, consultancy contracts to specialised subjects – NHS IT, dental health, nurse training. Particularly this was an opportunity to discuss greater transparency in public budgets generally, but the NHS especially.
